Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on his first historic state visit to the United States, commencing with a series of engagements in New York City and Washington DC. Invited by US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden, PM Modi’s visit holds significant importance.
In New York, he will lead the celebrations of the International Day of Yoga at the United Nations Headquarters on June 21. The Prime Minister will then travel to Washington DC, where he will receive a ceremonial welcome at the White House on June 22 and engage in high-level dialogues with President Biden.
A state dinner will be hosted in his honor, followed by his address to a joint session of the US Congress. This exceptional invitation demonstrates the bipartisan support and respect for Prime Minister Modi. During his visit, he will also have interactions with business leaders, professionals, and members of the Indian diaspora, further strengthening the US-India partnership. After concluding his visit to the US, PM Modi will proceed to Cairo for a state visit to Egypt from June 24-25.
