On Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will conclude the ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign, which honors those who sacrificed for the nation. He will also inaugurate ‘Amrit Vatika’ and ‘Amrit Mahotsav Memorial’ as part of the closing ceremony of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, and launch the ‘Mera Yuva Bharat’ platform for empowering the youth.
Prime Minister Modi will address the individuals who led the Amrit Kalash Yatras in various parts of the country. The ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign, which honors the sacrifices of brave individuals for the nation, featured diverse activities and ceremonies held across India. This included constructing memorials, taking five pledges outlined by PM Modi, planting indigenous saplings, creating ‘Amrit Vatika,’ and felicitating freedom fighters and their families.
The campaign witnessed significant success, with over 2.3 million memorials built, nearly 40 million ‘Panch Pran’ pledge selfies uploaded, more than 2 million ‘Veeron ka Vandan’ programs held nationwide, over 23 million indigenous saplings planted, and over 2.3 million Amrit Vatikas created. Part of the campaign was the Amrit Kalash Yatra, involving the collection of soil and rice grains from villages across the nation. The soil from different states and Union Territories was mixed in a giant ‘Amrit Kalash’ in the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.’
The ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign serves as the concluding event for the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav,’ which commenced on March 12, 2021, to celebrate 75 years of India’s Independence. The ‘Mera Yuva Bharat’ (MY Bharat) platform is being established as an autonomous body to provide a comprehensive government platform for the youth. MY Bharat aims to inspire and enable youth to become agents of change and nation builders, aligning with the vision of ‘Youth Led development’ in the country.
