Prime Minister Narendra Modi has initiated the commencement of various essential infrastructure development projects in Telangana, collectively valued at $810 million. The event took place in Warangal, where the projects include National Highway developments spanning 176 kilometers, amounting to over $738 million, and the establishment of a Railway Manufacturing Unit in Kazipet with a budget exceeding $68 million. During the ceremony, PM Modi also visited the Bhadrakali Temple for darshan and pooja.
Addressing the large gathering at the foundation stone laying function for the Mancherial-Warangal section of the Nagpur-Vijayawada Corridor, PM Modi emphasized the significance of these projects in enhancing connectivity between Telangana, Maharashtra, and Andhra Pradesh. He highlighted the positive impact on reducing travel distance between Mancherial and Warangal, thereby addressing traffic issues. PM Modi acknowledged that the region has long been neglected, particularly affecting tribal communities.
PM Modi emphasized that the corridor will enhance multimodal connectivity in the state, and the four-laning of the Karimnagar-Warangal section will strengthen access to the Hyderabad-Warangal Industrial Corridor, Kakatiya Mega Textile Park, and Warangal SEZ. The increased connectivity was noted to benefit the industrial and tourism sectors of Telangana, making travel to heritage sites and places of worship more convenient. The Prime Minister also acknowledged the positive impact on the agricultural and granite industries in Karimnagar, noting that the government’s efforts directly support these sectors and provide employment opportunities for the youth.
PM Modi further highlighted the achievements of Indian Railways, including the manufacturing of ‘Made in India’ Vande Bharat trains. Regarding the Railway Manufacturing Unit in Kazipet, PM Modi stated that it symbolizes the rejuvenation of Indian Railways and contributes to the Make in India initiative. He emphasized that the establishment of the unit would create new employment opportunities, benefiting local communities.
The Prime Minister also mentioned the importance of the Make in India campaign in boosting employment in the manufacturing sector, referencing the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme. He noted that Telangana is implementing over 50 major projects under this scheme. PM Modi shared India’s achievement in defense exports, highlighting the growth from $133 million to $2.11 billion, with Hyderabad-based Bharat Dynamics Limited being among the beneficiaries.
PM Modi stressed the government’s commitment to inclusive and rapid development across all regions of India, highlighting the focus on improving infrastructure and connectivity in Telangana over the past nine years. He concluded his address by reiterating the mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” (Collective Efforts, Inclusive Development) and urged the people of Telangana to embrace this approach for progress.
