Prime Minister Narendra Modi, upon his return from presiding over the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, revealed the government’s new initiative, the ‘Pradhanmantri Surydaya Yojana.’ This project aims to generate electricity through solar energy, with Modi expressing his strengthened resolve to provide Indians with solar rooftop systems on their houses. Through this initiative, the government targets installing rooftop solar on ten million houses, not only reducing electricity bills for the poor and middle class but also enhancing India’s self-reliance in the energy sector.
Modi shared his commitment on social media, posting pictures of discussions with officials about the scheme. The announcement came after the auspicious consecration ceremony in Ayodhya, where Modi presided over the ‘pran pratishtha’ of the Ram temple. Attended by over 7,000 invitees, including film stars, sportspersons, saints, industrialists, and musicians, the grand event marked a historic moment for India.
Modi voiced hope for India’s future, declaring it as India’s moment. He expressed gratitude to the Judiciary for resolving the longstanding dispute and stressed the just construction of Shri Ram’s temple, pledging to propel development to new heights.
Modi highlighted the nationwide enthusiasm with processions and cleanliness campaigns in temples, extending the celebratory spirit beyond urban centers to small villages across the country.
