The captivating global journey of Dr. Dnyaneshwar Mulay, an IFS officer, has been captured in the film “Passport Man of India: Gypsy Returns.” This film serves as a sequel to “Gypsy,” which gained recognition in India and overseas. Notably, “Gypsy” was honored with the Best Inspirational Film award at the 5th Hongkong International Youth Film Festival. Produced by Neha S Anchan and Dr. SV Anchan, Chairman of Safesea Group, the film was co-sponsored by Tata Consultancy Services and directed by Dhananjay Bhawalekar.
Dr. Mulay’s educational journey started in a modest residential school where he studied solely in the Marathi language. He faced challenges due to the lack of coaching centers and appropriate study materials in Kolhapur. Determined to pursue his goal of civil service examination, he wrote a letter to the then Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shankarrao Chavan. Surprisingly, the Chief Minister intervened by contacting the chairman of Dr. Mulay’s college, who in turn connected with the principal. This led to the arrangement of all necessary study materials, along with an offer of future support from the principal himself.
