Dr. Suresh Reddy has secured a second term as Trustee of Oak Brook Township in Illinois following the April 1, 2025 elections. Running against three other candidates for three open seats, Dr. Reddy won by a large margin and will serve alongside Jim Nagle and Dr. Melissa Martin.
Grateful for the community’s overwhelming support, Dr. Reddy emphasized that this victory belongs to every resident committed to a progressive and inclusive Oak Brook. With a population of around 10,000, Oak Brook lies just 15 miles west of downtown Chicago and is surrounded by neighboring communities like Elmhurst, Downers Grove, and Lombard.
Recognizing the campaign’s achievements, Dr. Reddy attributed it to the confidence shown in him by the people. “Your belief in me drives my promise to lead with integrity and openness,” he said. He reaffirmed his intent to work collaboratively with fellow Trustees and local leaders, including Mayor Larry Herman, in steering Oak Brook toward a united future.
A physician and former President of the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI), Dr. Reddy has long been involved in civic initiatives. He noted that during the campaign, he directly connected with more than 1,000 residents through calls, texts, and door-to-door outreach, vowing to continue this close engagement.
Dr. Reddy praised Jim Nagle for revitalizing the historic Drake Oak Brook Hotel and described Dr. Melissa Martin as a respected academic at the University of Illinois, Chicago. Their combined leadership is expected to bring broad perspectives to the board.
He also extended gratitude to mentors and community figures including Michael Manzo, Steve Farber, and Trustees Ed Tiesenga and Don Adler, among others, for their continued support. Congratulations were extended to the newly elected members of the local School and Park Boards.
With roots in Southern India, Dr. Reddy has always been passionate about uniting people. From organizing childhood games to raising over $1 million for his Alma Mater, his life has been dedicated to leadership and service. Trained at Harvard and currently based in Oak Brook, Dr. Reddy stated, “If we don’t lead, someone else will.”
Dr. Reddy concluded by urging residents to embrace Oak Brook’s diversity, come together, and focus on building a stronger future for all.
