A recent poll has brought to light interesting findings regarding a hypothetical 2024 election matchup in key swing states. The survey, carried out by The New York Times and Siena College, centered on eligible voters in crucial swing states such as Michigan, Arizona, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Wisconsin.
The results of the poll indicate that in a head-to-head matchup, former President Trump outperforms President Biden in all of the swing states except for Wisconsin. On the other hand, Nikki Haley, the former South Carolina governor and Republican presidential candidate, emerges as a strong contender against President Biden, securing victories in all six of these pivotal states. Notably, she maintains a more substantial lead in four out of the six states compared to Trump.
In Arizona, Haley leads by 7 points, while Trump holds a 5-point advantage. Michigan shows Haley with a 10-point lead, surpassing Trump’s 5-point margin. Pennsylvania also favors Haley with a 10-point lead, while Trump maintains a 4-point lead. In Wisconsin, Haley secures a 13-point lead, while Trump lags behind Biden by 2 points.
Conversely, the poll reveals that Trump maintains a more substantial lead over President Biden in Georgia and Nevada. In Georgia, Trump holds a 6-point lead over Biden, while Haley leads Biden by 3 points. In Nevada, Trump leads by 11 points, and Haley holds a 6-point lead.
These poll results have the potential to bolster support for Nikki Haley’s campaign, which has been gaining momentum in recent surveys. While other campaigns have faced challenges in gaining traction, recent polling suggests that Haley is a formidable contender, vying with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis as the likely second-place candidate after Trump, who continues to maintain a significant lead in the polls.
