On Wednesday, Indian American politician Nikki Haley took a swipe at prominent American journalist George Stephanopoulos. He had previously questioned her assertion that President Joe Biden would not complete his first term, suggesting that a vote for him was essentially a vote for Vice President Kamala Harris. Haley made these comments during an interview with Stephanopoulos on ABC News last year while she was a Republican primary candidate. Although she has since suspended her campaign, she revisited the issue by sharing an edited clip of that interview on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, with the caption, “Believe me now, George?”
Haley’s social media post surfaced amidst increasing media speculation and internal discussions within the Democratic Party regarding Biden’s potential withdrawal from the election race. This comes in light of his poor performance in a presidential debate against his Republican opponent, Donald Trump. The post Haley shared highlighted a segment where Stephanopoulos interrupted her to challenge her claim about Biden not completing his term. In the clip, Haley reiterated her belief that Biden would not finish his term, emphasizing that voting for him was effectively voting for Harris. She insisted that Harris becoming president would be alarming for Americans, expressing her concerns unequivocally during the interview.
