During an interview on Fox Business’ “Making Money with Charles Payne,” Republican presidential contender Nikki Haley commended India’s diplomatic approach in managing its relationships with Russia and the United States, remarking that India has “played it smart.” Haley, a former UN Ambassador, expressed that while the Indian government prefers to partner with the US over Russia, it harbors doubts about Washington’s ability to lead effectively.
Haley emphasized India’s strategic alignment with Russia, particularly in military equipment procurement, despite its desire to strengthen ties with the US. She argued that the US must exhibit greater assertiveness to garner genuine support from its allies, asserting that only then would countries like India, Australia, Israel, Japan, and South Korea fully align with US interests.
Regarding her recent electoral setback in Nevada, Haley labeled it a “scam,” alleging that the Trump camp had orchestrated it from the outset. She revealed her campaign’s decision not to pay a $55,000 fee to the Nevada Republican Party for caucus ballot inclusion, stating that her focus remained on South Carolina, Michigan, and Super Tuesday, rather than Nevada.
