Neelam Kothari Soni, a well-known 80s Bollywood actress who most recently had an appearance in the popular Netflix reality series “The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives,” will advocate for children’s rights at the Child Rights and You (CRY) America gala series, which will take place across the country.
According to a news release, the seasoned actress will appear as a celebrity guest at the nonprofit’s galas in San Diego on May 12, the San Francisco Bay Area on May 13, New York City on May 19, and Houston on May 21.
Neelam commented, “Over the years, I have heard of the good work they do, especially when it comes to ensuring that children can complete their education. Education is something that every child has a right to. It ensures a brighter future not only for the child but also for our country and our world.”
The CRY galas, with the theme “YOU Put the ‘Y’ in CRY,” will recognize the supporters, volunteers, media partners, and funders of CRY America. All proceeds from the events will go toward funding initiatives in India and the United States that provide underprivileged children with access to healthcare and education as well as safeguard them from child labor, early marriage, and trafficking.
CRY America CEO Shefali Sunderlal said, “We are so grateful to have donors, volunteers, sponsors, and media partners that embody the YOU in CRY, all of whom are absolutely essential to our continuing work for underprivileged children.” She further stated, “We are also fortunate to have the support of celebrities like Neelam, who add value to our events and amplify the voices and rights of children.”
