Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a bilateral meeting with Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic on Wednesday during the India AI Impact Summit 2026. The engagement focused on reviewing and advancing India-Serbia relations across multiple sectors.
According to Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, the two leaders explored ways to strengthen cooperation in trade, investment, artificial intelligence, fintech, education, agriculture, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges. They also shared perspectives on regional and global issues of mutual interest, reaffirming the long-standing friendship between the two nations, underpinned by close cultural and social ties.
The discussions aim to further enhance strategic and economic collaboration, building on a foundation of trust and mutual respect. The summit, now in its fourth edition, provides a key platform for India and its global partners to align AI initiatives with ethical, social, and economic objectives. The India AI Impact Summit 2026, hosted over five days, has attracted participation from more than 110 countries and 30 international organizations, including roughly 20 heads of state or government and nearly 45 ministers.
The event promotes India’s vision of “Sarvajana Hitaya, Sarvajana Sukhaya” (welfare and happiness for all), emphasizing inclusive AI development and its broader global applications. Previous editions were held in the United Kingdom (Bletchley Park, 2023), South Korea (2024), and France (2025), making this summit a continuation of a global dialogue on AI’s ethical, economic, and societal impact.
India and Serbia are expected to benefit from strengthened digital cooperation, cultural exchange, and tourism partnerships, while the summit also serves as a forum to discuss sustainable technological innovation and AI-driven solutions. Additional dignitaries are scheduled to arrive later, reinforcing the event’s focus on international collaboration, inclusive development, and ethical AI practices.
This high-level engagement underscores India’s commitment to deepening bilateral partnerships, promoting economic growth, and fostering technological innovation alongside trusted global allies like Serbia.
