After a 27-year absence, India is preparing to host the 71st Miss World beauty pageant in 2023, marking a huge comeback. The news was made at a press conference in New Delhi, where Julia Morley, the chairperson and CEO of the Miss World Organization, and the current Miss World, Karolina Bielawska, were present.
Karolina Bielawska, Miss World 2022, expressed her delight about India hosting the event and said it would be a chance to display the nation’s grace, beauty, and forward-thinking mentality. She extended an invitation to everyone to join her on this amazing journey and celebrate the ability of women to make a difference.
Julia Morley expressed her joy at selecting India as the host country for Miss World 2023. After visiting India more than 30 years ago, she proclaimed her love for the nation and stressed its distinctive and diversified culture, world-class attractions, and magnificent locations. In order to provide the most spectacular Miss World final ever, Miss World Limited and PME Entertainment are working together to produce an extraordinary Miss World Festival. Dr. Syed Zafar Islam was praised by Julia Morley for helping to make this opportunity possible.
In India, more than 130 competitors from various nations will compete to show off their skills, knowledge, and compassion. They will take part in a variety of difficult competitions, such as talent shows, sporting events, and philanthropic endeavors, all of which are intended to emphasize their outstanding skills as change agents.
Up until the grand finale, which is expected to take place in November or December 2023, the selection process will entail several rounds over the course of a month. India is once again serving as the site of a highly anticipated international pageant; the last time was in 1996.
With six previous winners, India has a tremendous history with the Miss World competition. Reita Faria, who competed in the Miss World competition in 1966, was the first Indian woman to earn the title. Later winners were Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in 1994, Diana Hayden in 1997, Yukta Mookhey in 1999, Priyanka Chopra in 2000, and Manushi Chhillar.
