Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay on Sunday appealed to Hindus across Telangana to stand together as a strong and influential voting community. Speaking at the Kapu community’s Kartika Vana Bhojanalu celebration in Kukatpally, he urged Hindus to unite with renewed purpose in defense of Sanatan Dharma.
Addressing the gathering, Sanjay drew a sharp comparison between religious conversion and abandoning one’s spiritual identity. He encouraged individuals who had turned to other faiths to reconsider their choices and return to Hinduism through what he described as ghar vapsi, or coming back home. According to him, returning to Hindu roots is a way of honoring the deities and cultural values passed down through generations.
Sanjay added that the results of the recent Jubilee Hills election had strengthened the resolve of many Hindus, sparking what he described as a revived sense of unity. He criticized political parties that, in his view, consistently compete to court Muslim communities while overlooking Hindu concerns. He insisted that it was time for Hindus to abandon complacency and come together as a decisive and organized vote bank.
He reiterated that Hindu dharma offers protection and support to anyone willing to return, emphasizing that no one is ever shut out. Sanjay called on people across all castes to work collectively for the welfare of their communities and for the protection of Sanatan Dharma, which he said remains his top priority.
Highlighting the influence of Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan, Sanjay remarked that Kalyan’s open support for Sanatan Dharma has encouraged many individuals who had converted to reexamine their decisions. He suggested that this growing ideological shift was prompting a wider return to traditional values.
During the festive celebrations, Sanjay reaffirmed his commitment to supporting those who felt pressured or misled into conversion. He encouraged every caste group to unite in safeguarding the sanctity and continuity of Sanatan Dharma, stressing that collective effort is essential to protecting cultural and spiritual traditions.
He concluded by urging the community to remain steadfast in their beliefs, reaffirm their identity, and work hand in hand to preserve the foundations of Hindu philosophy and practice.
