On July 25, Prime Minister Narendra Modi achieved a remarkable political milestone, officially becoming the second-longest-serving Prime Minister in India’s history. Surpassing the tenure of the late Indira Gandhi, this achievement sparked admiration across the entire political spectrum, with numerous leaders commending Modi’s exceptional leadership, vision, and enduring commitment to the nation.
Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi extended his best wishes, highlighting Modi’s record-breaking service and expressing hope for even longer leadership ahead, emphasizing faith in Modi’s capability to further raise India’s stature globally. Echoing this sentiment, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha lauded Modi for reshaping India’s global reputation, stating that under his guidance, India and its citizens have gained new-found respect and honor worldwide, instilling unprecedented national pride.
Bihar Minister Ashok Chaudhary thanked Modi for his relentless dedication, conveying hopes for his continued efforts in propelling India toward becoming the world’s third-largest economy. BJP spokesperson Syed Shahnawaz Hussain called it a defining moment, noting that after Jawaharlal Nehru, Modi’s tenure is the most enduring, and his leadership is admired not just domestically, but internationally as well.
Other BJP officials, including MP Damodar Agrawal, attributed the party’s repeated electoral success to Modi’s unique skills and unwavering devotion, recognizing him as one of the globe’s most influential leaders. Minister Madan Sahni added that Modi’s continued stewardship is expected to further strengthen India’s position, especially due to his strong governance and steadfast national security policies that have effectively countered external threats.
With this achievement, Modi now stands just behind Jawaharlal Nehru, who served as Prime Minister for over 6,000 days. Modi’s profile is further distinguished by multiple firsts: he is the first and only Indian Prime Minister born after independence, the longest-serving non-Congress leader to hold the office, as well as the longest-serving Prime Minister from a non-Hindi-speaking state.
This recognition of Modi’s prolonged service is being hailed as an era-defining occasion, symbolizing not just personal accomplishment, but also reflecting the broader transformation and optimism in the nation under his leadership.
