Born on February 19, 1630, at Shivneri Fort in Pune, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is regarded as one of India’s greatest warriors. He established the Maratha Empire in 1674 after fiercely resisting Mughal rule. Alongside his military prowess, he implemented a well-structured administrative system and introduced a civil code to govern his people effectively.
