The makers of Gadar 2 have recently unveiled the official trailer, showcasing it as a thrilling action-packed film where Sunny Deol, portraying Tara Singh, takes on the Pakistani Army to rescue his son.
The sequel, ‘Gadar 2,’ follows the romantic partition-era love story of ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha,’ which was a huge hit at the box office during its initial release. Before the storm of Gadar 2 hits, ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’ is re-released on June 9, 2023.
Continuing the tale of Tara Singh and his family, Gadar 2 sees Tara fighting for his son after successfully bringing back his wife Sakeena (Ameesha Patel) in the first installment. The movie is set to release on Independence Day, August 11, 2023. However, it faces competition as Akshay Kumar’s popular film, OMG 2, is also releasing on the same date.
The star-studded cast of Gadar 2 includes reprisals by Sunny Deol as Tara Singh, Ameesha Patel as Sakeena (Sakku), and Utkarsh Sharma as Charanjeet Singh (Jeete). Additional actors like Manish Wadhwa, Sajjad Delafrooz, Gaurav Chopra, Dolly Bindra, Simrat Kaur, Luv Sinha, and Rohit Choudhary will also feature in the movie.
The film is being produced by Anil Sharma under the banner of Anil Sharma Productions in association with Zee Studios. Anil Sharma directs the movie, with the story penned by Shaktimaan Talwar. The technical team includes Najeeb Khan as the cinematographer, Ashfaq Makrani as the editor, and Chandan Saxena and Mithun Sharma as music composers.
Adding to the anticipation, veteran actor Nana Patekar will lend his voice to introduce the movie ‘Gadar 2,’ featuring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel.
During the shooting of the climax scenes in Lucknow, Gadar 2 faced a controversy when around 150 junior artists claimed they were denied their fees. The production house called the police to disperse them, but Anil Sharma explained that they had only called for 10-15 people and were surprised by the larger turnout.
The issue was swiftly resolved, and the iconic scene of Sunny Deol uprooting the hand pump, a memorable moment from the first film, is said to be recreated.
Movie enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the official trailer, which is set to be released on July 25, 2023. Teasers, posters, and songs have already generated significant excitement among the audience.
