Sindhu River, deeply embedded in the historical, cultural, and spiritual consciousness of all Indians, was a source of pleasure for the President as she met the warm-hearted people of Ladakh. President Murmu emphasized that the people of India have a unique fondness and respect for Ladakh’s residents and are well-informed about their contributions to the nation’s defense.
The President highlighted the bravery and faith in Buddha exhibited by the people of this region. She also pointed out the abundant potential for spiritual, adventure, and eco-tourism development in Ladakh. President Murmu noted the prospects for wellness or health tourism in the area and praised the preservation of rich traditions among the tribal communities in Ladakh.
She encouraged the preservation of the tribal communities’ lifestyles in harmony with environmental sustainability while embracing the benefits of modern development. This blend of tradition and modernity is seen as the path to sustainable development for all citizens, including those in Ladakh.
During her visit, the President engaged with members of self-help groups and the local tribal population.
Meanwhile, Army Chief General Manoj Pande visited the Siachen base camp and commended the soldiers for their dedication to safeguarding the nation’s icy frontiers. He laid a wreath at the Siachen War Memorial to honor the soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the world’s highest battlefield. General Pande interacted with the soldiers deployed in these challenging conditions and praised their professionalism and unwavering commitment to duty. He encouraged them to continue their outstanding work with the same enthusiasm.
