U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris has taken aim at her Republican opponent, Donald Trump, accusing him of being self-absorbed and lacking a genuine agenda to address the needs of the American populace. Speaking to thousands of supporters in Arizona, a key battleground state, on Thursday, Harris noted that Trump had officially decided against participating in further debates before the November 5 election, labeling this move a “disservice” to voters.
“Trump’s refusal to debate shows weakness. But even without his participation, the contrast between us in this election is unmistakable,” Harris stated. She highlighted that while there are numerous pressing issues affecting Americans, Trump has failed to address them.
“We will consistently advocate for the security of our nation and honor our military personnel. These matters are crucial for you and your families, yet they remain absent from Trump’s dialogue,” she remarked.
Harris criticized Trump for relying on a “tired playbook” and emphasized that he lacks a concrete plan to meet the needs of the American people. “He is solely concerned with himself. It’s time for a fresh start,” she asserted.
The Vice President expressed that America is prepared for a new direction and a generation of optimistic leadership. She emphasized that the campaign has received support from Democrats, Republicans, and Independents because people understand the importance of having a president who represents all Americans, expressing a collective fatigue with the existing divisions.
According to Harris, this election embodies two distinctly different visions for the country: “One vision, represented by Trump, is fixated on the past, while our vision looks to the future, focusing on the critical issues affecting working families, such as reducing living costs and supporting small businesses and entrepreneurs.”
