Kamala Harris is set to make her return to The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on October 8, marking her first appearance on a late-night talk show since becoming a presidential nominee. Having received her nomination in August, this will be her seventh discussion with Colbert; her last visit was on March 15, 2023.
Harris initially appeared on the show on April 19, 2018, during her tenure as a U.S. senator from California. While she is featured on The Late Show, Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz will make his debut on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live.
In addition to their late-night appearances, both Kamala Harris and Tim Walz will be featured in a primetime election special of 60 Minutes airing on October 7. This one-hour segment, hosted by correspondent Bill Whitaker, will provide in-depth interviews with Harris and Walz as they campaign.
Furthermore, 60 Minutes correspondent Scott Pelley is expected to discuss the absence of the Republican ticket, including former President Donald Trump and Senator JD Vance, from the special’s interviews.
In related news, Kamala Harris recently appeared on the podcast Call Her Daddy on October 6, where she stated that Donald Trump cannot be a protector of women. However, the episode received criticism from right-wing commentators for not addressing abuse allegations against her husband, even as Harris advocated for women’s rights. Call Her Daddy is among Spotify’s top podcasts.
