Renowned Hollywood actor Johnny Depp, whose film ‘Jeanne du Barry’ received a remarkable standing ovation of seven minutes at the Cannes Film Festival, faces a setback as he is forced to reschedule a series of upcoming tour dates due to an ankle injury he has suffered.
Expressing his regret, Johnny Depp mentioned in a statement quoted by ‘Mirror.co.uk’, “I apologize for the inconvenience caused by the rescheduling of shows in New Hampshire, Boston, and New York. However, rest assured, we will bring an incredible show to our fans in Europe and make it up to those who had purchased tickets for these shows on the East Coast later this summer! Once again, my sincerest apologies. Sending love and respect, JD x.”
The official Instagram page of Johnny Depp’s band, The Hollywood Vampires, shared a statement, stating, “We are saddened to announce that the Hollywood Vampires will be rescheduling three of our US tour dates this week. Johnny has suffered a painful ankle injury following his recent appearances and has been advised by his doctor not to travel. He is deeply disappointed by this unforeseen circumstance but is looking forward to recovering fully so that all four Vampires can deliver their absolute best during the European tour.” The affected dates were mentioned, assuring fans that their tickets will be honored for the rescheduled shows.
On May 30, May 31, and June 1, the 59-year-old actor was scheduled to perform in Manchester, New Hampshire, Boston, and Bethel, New York with The Hollywood Vampires, a band consisting of Depp, Alice Cooper, and Aerosmith’s Joe Perry, as reported by ‘Mirror.co.uk’. However, fans in those locations will have to wait a little longer to witness the performances as Johnny Depp has been advised to take it easy due to a lower body injury.
Depp recently informed his Instagram followers about his injury, stating, “Dear friends, I regret to inform you that I have fractured my ankle, which is quite disappointing! It started as a minor break, but it worsened between Cannes and the Royal Albert Hall. Multiple medical professionals have strongly advised me to avoid any physical activity for the time being, so unfortunately, I am unable to travel at this time.”
