Shah Rukh Khan’s film “Jawan” achieved remarkable success, grossing over $15 million (129.6 crore) worldwide on its first day of release, shattering opening day records for Hindi films in India.
Reports indicate that “Jawan” earned approximately $9 million (₹75 crore) in India on its debut day, with $7 million (₹65.5 crore) originating from the Hindi version alone. This marked a significant surpassing of SRK’s previous film, “Pathaan,” which opened at $6.6 million (₹55 crore), securing the highest single-day collection for a Hindi film.
The pan-India film, directed by Atlee, features notable actors such as Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Deepika Padukone, Sanya Malhotra, and Priyamini in pivotal roles. The film’s release date was September 7.
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh reported that “Jawan” debuted at the top spot in Australia and New Zealand, as well as third place in Germany. It achieved an impressive $255,680 (AUD 400,000) in Australia, making it the first Indian film to lead the country’s box office, as reported by India Today. The film also garnered strong initial performance in North America, the UK, and Canada.
Following the film’s record-breaking success, Shah Rukh Khan expressed his gratitude and encouraged audiences to continue enjoying the movie in theaters.
