Renowned lyricist and writer Javed Akhtar expressed high praise for Christopher Nolan’s biopic “Oppenheimer,” which centers on the life of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the ‘father of the atomic bomb.’ The film has been met with widespread acclaim globally, and it received a positive response during its opening weekend in India. One particular scene involving lead actors Cillian Murphy and Florence Pugh generated significant attention.
Javed Akhtar shared his review of the Hollywood film, stating that it is not just good but a great film. When someone questioned him about the term “isotope,” he responded by explaining that an understanding of scientific terms is not essential to grasp the film’s essence. He emphasized that at its core, “Oppenheimer” is a compelling human story about a scientist.
While some people agreed with Javed’s assessment, praising the film as one of the greatest ever, others pointed out that the box office performance had declined significantly after an impressive opening weekend.
“Oppenheimer,” released on July 21, features a stellar cast, with Cillian Murphy portraying J. Robert Oppenheimer, alongside Robert Downey Jr, Emily Blunt, Kenneth Branagh, and Rami Malek. The movie centers on the Manhattan Project and its role in the creation of the first nuclear bombs used by the US during World War II.
