India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met Dharam Gokhool in Port Louis, reaffirming the strong and enduring partnership between the two nations and exploring ways to further enhance bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, Jaishankar conveyed greetings from President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The discussions reflected the warmth of India-Mauritius relations and a shared commitment to strengthening ties across multiple sectors.
Jaishankar also met Navinchandra Ramgoolam, where both sides reviewed the wide-ranging and substantive progress made in bilateral relations over the past year. The talks covered key areas including development cooperation, healthcare, education, capacity building, mobility, technology, and maritime security, along with regional developments and their implications.
In addition, the External Affairs Minister held discussions with former Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth, acknowledging his continued commitment to strengthening the India-Mauritius partnership.
India and Mauritius share deep-rooted historical, cultural, and people-to-people ties, which continue to form the foundation of their relationship. The engagement highlights India’s sustained focus on the Indian Ocean region and its efforts to deepen cooperation with key partners.
The visit also aligns with India’s broader diplomatic outreach, reinforcing collaboration in strategic, economic, and regional domains while advancing shared interests in stability and development.
