ISRO Chairman S Somanath addressed reports suggesting critical remarks about his predecessor K Sivan in his upcoming autobiography, “Nilavu Kudicha Simhangal” (Lions that drank the moonlight). Somanath acknowledged that everyone faces challenges on their path to reaching high positions in organizations, and he had also encountered difficulties during his decades-long journey in the space agency. However, he clarified that his book doesn’t target any specific individual.
Somanath highlighted the challenges faced by individuals in key positions, particularly concerning organizational appointments. He explained that he aimed to emphasize the competition for significant roles without singling out any individual. In his book, he mentioned the lack of clarity surrounding the announcement of the failure of the Chandrayaan-2 mission.
Regarding the Chandrayaan-2 incident, he stressed the importance of transparent communication about what transpired. Somanath believes that openly sharing information increases organizational transparency, and he referenced this incident in the book.
Somanath reiterated that his autobiography serves as an inspiration for those striving to overcome challenges in life and isn’t intended as criticism. His book is set to be released soon, aiming to motivate individuals facing obstacles in their pursuit of success.
