On September 13, 2023, India’s President, Ms. Droupadi Murmu, inaugurated the Ayushman Bhav Campaign virtually from Raj Bhavan in Gandhinagar. In her address, the President emphasized the campaign’s overarching goal, stating that “no person should be left behind, and no village should be left behind,” aligning with the aspiration of achieving Universal Health Coverage. She stressed the importance of individual and family health in realizing a healthier India and highlighted the collaborative multi-ministerial approach taken to attain this objective.
Ms. Droupadi Murmu commended the Ayushman Apke Dwar 3.0 initiative, which encompasses the distribution of Ayushman cards to beneficiaries, organizing Ayushman meetings to educate villagers about health, hygiene, and nutrition, conducting Ayushman Melas, and arranging weekly visits from specialized doctors at Community Health Centers.
The President lauded India’s enthusiasm for adopting new technology and innovative methods across various sectors. She mentioned the launch of the ‘Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission’ in September 2021, expressing optimism that India would lead in digital inclusion not only in healthcare but also in other domains.
The Ayushman Bhav Campaign, led by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, is a comprehensive national healthcare endeavor aimed at reaching every village and town in India with healthcare facilities.
