In a significant revelation, a classified Pakistani dossier has disclosed that India’s Operation Sindoor encompassed a broader range of targets than previously acknowledged. The document, part of Pakistan’s Operation Bunyan un Marsoos records, indicates that Indian forces struck at least eight additional locations, including major cities such as Peshawar, Jhang, Hyderabad (Sindh), Gujrat (Punjab), Gujranwala, Bahawalnagar, Attock, and Chor. These sites were not mentioned in India’s official briefings following the airstrikes.
The expanded list of targets suggests a more extensive and strategic operation by India in response to the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which resulted in 26 fatalities. Initially, India had confirmed strikes on nine locations associated with terrorist infrastructure, including Muzaffarabad, Kotli, Rawalakot, Chakswari, Bhimber, Neelum Valley, Jhelum, and Chakwal.
Further analysis of the Pakistani dossier reveals that India’s retaliatory actions extended beyond terrorist camps to include eleven Pakistani airbases. The targeted airbases were Nur Khan, Rafiqui, Murid, Sukkur, Sialkot, Pasrur, Chunian, Sargodha, Skardu, Bholari, and Jacobabad. These strikes inflicted significant damage on Pakistan’s air capabilities, with military analysts estimating a setback of at least five years for the Pakistan Air Force.
The depth and precision of Operation Sindoor underscore a notable shift in India’s military strategy, moving from symbolic responses to direct and substantial punitive actions against both terrorist organizations and supporting military infrastructure. This approach reflects India’s evolving doctrine of imposing tangible costs to deter future aggression.
The disclosure of these additional targets not only challenges the initial narrative but also highlights the complexities of modern military engagements and the importance of strategic communication in international conflicts. As both nations navigate the aftermath, the revelations from the Pakistani dossier provide critical insights into the scale and intent behind India’s Operation Sindoor.
