India’s Ambassador to the United States, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, met US Senator Jacky Rosen, expressing gratitude for her consistent support toward advancing India-US counter-terrorism cooperation. Their discussion focused on tackling regional security challenges, including cross-border terrorism, while strengthening diplomatic and economic collaboration between the two nations.
During the meeting, Kwatra briefed Senator Rosen, the Ranking Member of the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Near East, Central, South Asia, and Counter-terrorism, on the ongoing India-US trade engagement. He highlighted the significant growth in bilateral hydrocarbons trade and the shared interest in expanding cooperation across emerging technology sectors.
In a post shared on X, Kwatra described the discussion as engaging, noting that both sides exchanged insights on the societal applications of artificial intelligence and explored new opportunities for collaboration in that domain. He appreciated Senator Rosen’s steadfast commitment to supporting India and the United States in addressing shared security threats and maintaining regional peace.
The Ambassador also held talks with Ambassador Stuart E. Jones, President of the Middle East Institute, where they exchanged views on recent geopolitical shifts across the West Asian region. These conversations reflect India’s growing role in shaping dialogue around global stability and conflict resolution.
Earlier in the week, Kwatra met US Senator Jeanne Shaheen, the Ranking Member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Their discussion centered on expanding trade relations, strengthening India’s energy security, and increasing oil and gas cooperation between the two countries. They also addressed shared geopolitical challenges and reaffirmed India’s call for a peaceful resolution to the Ukraine conflict through diplomatic engagement.
In another recent meeting, Kwatra welcomed US Senator Bill Hagerty and his spouse, emphasizing the importance of the India-US partnership. The two discussed ongoing trade talks, the rise of hydrocarbons exchange, and ways to enhance cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region. Kwatra expressed appreciation for Senator Hagerty’s unwavering support for the strong and evolving ties between New Delhi and Washington.
