During an event organized by Indian community organizations in Washington DC on July 11, Venkaiah Naidu, the former Vice President of India, commended the Indian American community for their remarkable achievements in the United States and their contributions to both nations.
Naidu emphasized the significant role of the Indian diaspora in the growth and development of the US, underscoring the partnership, cooperation, and trust between India and the US. He expressed immense pride in witnessing the accomplishments of Indian individuals who have excelled in diverse fields, acknowledging that their collective efforts have not only brought honor to India but also strengthened the Indo-US relationship.
Additionally, Naidu attended the 23rd Congress of the Telugu Association of North America (TANA) in the United States. In his address to the attendees, he highlighted the importance of promoting the Telugu language and encouraged the diaspora to take pride in their native tongue. He also emphasized India’s responsibility as a “Vishwa Guru” to share its knowledge and wisdom with the world.
At the TANA event, Naidu received recognition for his public service and leadership through the presentation of a Joint Legislative Resolution by the state of New Jersey, USA, a notable honor for his contributions to society.
Furthermore, Naidu had a discussion with Taranjit Singh Sandhu, the Ambassador of India to the United States, at India House in Washington DC. Their conversation centered around deepening the bilateral relations between the US and India.
