Indian Americans have introduced a groundbreaking AI-powered farming app designed to support farmers with data-driven decisions. The LetZFarm app, developed by Massachusetts-based Abris Inc in collaboration with the Carbon Zero Institute of Trinidad and Tobago, was launched during the InvestSmart Caribbean Summit in Washington, DC. This innovative tool is currently assisting farmers in Trinidad and Tobago by providing insights to boost productivity, enhance food security, and adapt to climate change.
Priya Samant, CEO and co-founder of Abris Inc., highlighted the app’s transformative potential. She shared that the company’s goal is to expand throughout the Caribbean, including Guyana. The initial phase aims to assist farmers in enhancing crop yields, receiving weather updates, accessing market prices, and managing pesticides. Samant added that the broader vision is to develop a comprehensive solution for farmers.
Hemang Jani, a senior advisor at the World Bank, highlighted the app’s significance for rural and agricultural development. He noted that AI integration will increase productivity, lower costs, and ensure farmers access the right markets at optimal times. Jani praised LetZFarm as a powerful example of Indian innovation benefiting global communities, particularly in the Caribbean and Latin America.
By harnessing AI, LetZFarm offers scalable, practical solutions, illustrating how Indian expertise can foster sustainable growth in agriculture worldwide.
