Dr. Sampat Shivangi, a distinguished Indian-American physician, has been chosen as a delegate to the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee this month, where former US President Donald Trump will officially be nominated as the party’s presidential candidate. Trump, aged 78, is slated to be the Republican nominee for the upcoming presidential election.
Dr. Shivangi, a well-respected leader within the Indian-American community, expressed his pride in being elected as a National Delegate to the convention for the sixth consecutive time. He noted his nomination as an official delegate at the convention scheduled from July 13 to July 19, 2024, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
During the four-day Republican National Convention (RNC), delegates from across the United States will finalize the nomination process to formally endorse Trump as the Republican candidate for the presidential election on November 5.
A lifelong member of the Republican Party and a founding member of the Republican Indian Council and the Republican Indian National Council, Dr. Shivangi highlighted his ongoing service as a National Delegate at past conventions. His involvement began with President George W. Bush’s nomination in New York and continued through the nominations of Senator John McCain, Governor Mitt Romney, President Donald Trump in 2016 and 2020, and now for President Trump’s re-election in 2024 in Milwaukee.
Dr. Shivangi, who also serves as the national president of the Indian American Forum for Political Education, emphasized the importance of representing the Indian-American community at the national level. He mentioned his participation in the luncheon hosted by Governor Tate Reeves of Mississippi for the delegates at Northern Lights in Milwaukee on July 16, specifically for the Mississippi delegates.
Throughout his career spanning over three decades, Dr. Shivangi has actively advocated for various bills in the US Congress on behalf of India, utilizing his extensive network with US Senators and Congressmen to advance Indian-American interests.
