Addressing the International Aerospace Conference in Gwalior, Civil Aviation Minister Mr. Jyotiraditya Scindia shared a promising vision for India’s aviation sector. He projected that by 2035, the country could see a substantial increase in air passengers, reaching 425 million, a significant rise from the current level of 145 million. This exponential growth potential presents an enticing opportunity for international players in the aviation industry to explore.
Minister Scindia emphasized the role of regional air connectivity in democratizing civil aviation within India. This expansion has led to the emergence of four regional carriers, underscoring the sector’s vibrancy and accessibility. The minister called upon international aviation companies to closely consider India as a market with substantial growth prospects.
Official data revealed a substantial 25% increase in domestic aviation traffic in July, with 121 million passengers compared to the same period the previous year. This data underscores the consistent upward trajectory of India’s aviation sector.
Mr. Jyotiraditya Scindia stressed the timely opportunity for aerospace players to establish a strong presence in India. He highlighted the “imperative” nature of expanding civil aviation, both as a service and a product, to fully harness the sector’s potential for growth and development.
