In a video message at the third Nepal Investment Summit, Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, expressed India’s enduring commitment to Nepal’s development, emphasizing their longstanding partnership.
Goyal underscored the deep-seated friendship and mutual aspirations for prosperity shared between Nepal and India, highlighting India’s consistent support in fostering Nepal’s growth.
During the summit’s inaugural session, Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava, reiterated India’s pledge to encourage investment in Nepal, emphasizing its potential to enhance trade and create new opportunities.
Srivastava emphasized the significance of bilateral cooperation in various sectors, such as the establishment of integrated check posts and trans-border electricity transmission facilities, to strengthen the economic ties between the two nations.
He also highlighted India’s substantial investment in Nepal, accounting for over 33 percent of Nepal’s foreign direct investment, which amounts to nearly Nepali rupees 89 billion, reflecting the depth of economic collaboration between the two countries.
