In the midst of the Israel-Hamas conflict, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a call from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. After the conversation, PM Modi expressed India’s condemnation of terrorism in all its forms.
In a tweet, PM Modi extended gratitude to Netanyahu for the update on the situation and reiterated India’s unwavering support for Israel during these challenging times.
Israel’s Foreign Ministry responded with a “Thank you” tweet to PM Modi’s support. Earlier, PM Modi had conveyed his deep shock at the “terrorist attacks” in Israel and expressed India’s solidarity with the nation.
The conflict, which began with a surprise attack by Hamas on Israel on October 7, has led to significant casualties on both sides. Israel reported at least 900 deaths and 2,600 injuries, while Gaza reported 704 fatalities, including 143 children and 105 women, and over 4,000 injuries from Israeli airstrikes.
Netanyahu clarified that Israel did not initiate the war and stated that they were compelled into it. Despite not initiating the conflict, he affirmed Israel’s commitment to concluding it.
