Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman, the Minister of Finance for the Union of India, praised India’s solid digital infrastructure and attributed the country’s leading position in digital transactions to the widespread accessibility of electronic transactions. She brought attention to India’s monthly tally of 433 Millions digital transactions while speaking at the Viksit Bharat 2047 Ambassador Campus Dialogue. She also emphasized the seamless integration of buyers, sellers, and payment systems that is made possible by digital public infrastructure.
In addition, she praised India’s progress in the fields of the mobile phone industry and renewable energy, which she attributed to programs such as the industry-linked incentive (PLI) schemes. She expressed her admiration for the rapidly expanding startup environment, which has expanded into the space industry and is made possible by the actions of the government. In addition, the government provides a budget of twelve billion United States dollars, which is equivalent to one lakh crore, for research and science in order to support new businesses and innovation. By stressing better infrastructure, modern educational institutions, and healthcare facilities, she underscored the commitment of the government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to realizing the goal of Viksit Bharat through the development of infrastructure.
