Mr. Mukesh Aghi, President and CEO of the US-India Strategic and Partnership Forum (USISPF), emphasized that India is becoming a key player in global geopolitics and offers a significant opportunity for U.S. companies to decrease their dependence on China for manufacturing. He emphasized India’s impressive economic expansion, noting that it is one of the few large economies consistently achieving 7-8% growth rates. With this robust growth, India is becoming a key market for US businesses and is fast evolving into a significant manufacturing hub, particularly with the establishment of global capability centers.
Looking ahead, the Indian economy is expected to gain further momentum by 2025. Currently, India exports services worth approximately US$ 125 billion. As the USISPF gears up for its India Leadership Summit on October 14, Aghi stressed that the event will focus on reinforcing the strategic partnership between India and the US. The summit will bring together prominent American business leaders, including CEOs from Fortune 100 companies, to discuss critical issues such as trade, defense, technology, and cultural exchanges.
USISPF plays an active role in facilitating investment and collaboration between US businesses and India. This initiative aims to create employment opportunities, introduce new technology, and integrate American companies into India’s supply chain. Aghi also commented on the increasing tensions between the US and China, highlighting that India must capitalize on its strong relationship with the US to accelerate economic growth and provide jobs for the 1.5 million individuals entering the workforce annually.
