Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked the conclusion of the G20 Leaders Summit by transferring the ceremonial G20 presidency gavel to Brazil’s President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. Modi expressed confidence in the collaborative spirit of the Troika (comprising the current, previous, and upcoming presidencies) and expected Brazil to advance the collective objectives of member nations when it assumes the presidency in November 2023.
Discussing the outcomes and deliberations of the New Delhi Summit, Modi acknowledged the multitude of suggestions and proposals put forth by the participants over the past two days. He emphasized the responsibility to assess these recommendations and explore ways to expedite progress.
Despite India having two more months of its presidency, Modi suggested a virtual meeting of G20 leaders in November to review the topics discussed during the New Delhi summit.
Concluding under the theme of India’s G20 presidency, “One Earth, One Family, One Future,” Modi extended his wishes for global hope and peace, extending gratitude to the heads of state for their participation in the Summit.
