Both nations are exploring opportunities to jointly advance research initiatives related to the Arctic, an area that is gaining global significance due to climate change and emerging economic routes.
The discussions also highlighted cooperation in the education sector. Finland, widely recognized for its advanced education system, will work with India to expand research partnerships in teacher training, school-to-school collaboration, and the future of learning models. These initiatives aim to strengthen academic exchanges and create opportunities for students and researchers from both countries.
India and Finland also signed a comprehensive migration and mobility agreement designed to connect the innovation ecosystems of the two nations. The agreement is expected to facilitate talent mobility, promote startup collaboration, and deepen technological engagement between the two economies.
The partnership between the two countries is also expanding into high-technology sectors. Areas such as artificial intelligence, 6G telecommunications, quantum computing, clean energy, and semiconductors are expected to become key pillars of cooperation. Both sides believe that collaboration in these sectors will contribute to building resilient and trustworthy global technology supply chains.
India also highlighted the long-standing contributions of Finnish technology companies in connecting millions of Indians through telecommunications networks. Infrastructure collaboration has also been significant, including the development of major engineering projects in India with Finnish expertise.
The leaders noted that stronger cooperation between India and Europe is contributing to greater global stability, economic growth, and shared prosperity. With growing geopolitical uncertainties around the world, both countries stressed the importance of partnerships among democratic nations to promote sustainable development and technological innovation.
