Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky criticized Modi’s meeting with Putin, calling it a setback for peace efforts, following deadly Russian attacks across Ukraine that claimed numerous lives. Modi, during his visit, addressed the issue of children’s deaths in conflicts with Putin, expressing deep sorrow over innocent lives lost. He underscored the futility of military solutions, advocating for dialogue as the sole path to peace amidst ongoing violence.
US Department of State Spokesperson Matthew Miller reiterated concerns over India’s ties with Russia, stating they have been conveyed directly to the Indian government. Meanwhile, President Joe Biden addressed NATO, stressing the threat posed by Russia and other authoritarian states, underscoring the alliance’s role in global security.
