Modi reflected on India’s bold steps towards becoming a “Viksit Bharat” or developed nation. He pointed out that innovation and breaking traditional boundaries have become integral to India’s identity. Highlighting the achievements of his government, he shared that India’s GDP has doubled over the past ten years, adding $2 trillion to the economy. Modi projected that India would soon achieve its goal of becoming a $5 trillion economy and ascend to the position of the world’s third-largest economy.
In his address, the Prime Minister underscored India’s dynamic startup ecosystem. Over 1.5 million startups have been registered, with more than 100 achieving unicorn status—companies valued at over $1 billion each. Modi credited this achievement to a shift in India’s approach, where challenges are seen as opportunities for innovation.
India’s advancements in space exploration were another point of pride. Modi announced that India is preparing to launch astronauts into space through the Gaganyaan mission and is also set to construct its own space station. The Prime Minister also highlighted the social impact of these economic strides, stating that 25 million citizens have been lifted out of poverty in the last decade. He attributed this success to an unwavering focus on development and inclusivity.
