The Student Alumni Interaction Cell at the Indian Institute of Technology Varanasi, renowned for its century-long tradition of honoring outstanding alumni, has recently unveiled the recipients of the Distinguished Alumnus/Alumna Award for the year 2023-24.
Alok Gupta, one of the distinguished awardees, holds the position of Senior Associate Dean of Faculty, Research, and Administration at the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. Notably, he is a recipient of the prestigious NSF CAREER Award, recognizing his significant contributions to the realm of dynamic pricing mechanisms on the internet.
Another recipient, Sudhir Singh, currently serves as the CEO and Executive Director of Coforge. Singh’s career journey led him from Genpact, where he held the role of Chief Operating Officer for IT Services and Capital Markets Business, to Infosys in the United States. During his tenure at Infosys, Singh handled various responsibilities, with a focus on sales and client portfolio management.
Manu Vora, the present Chairman and President of Business Excellence, Inc., a globally renowned consulting firm specializing in quality management, also graces the list of awardees for the year. With an extensive career spanning over 46 years, Vora has offered leadership and guidance to Fortune 500 companies through the effective application of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Award framework.
Vikash Agrawal, another honoree, currently serves as the Executive Chairman and Co-founder of Levrx. In his role, Agrawal is instrumental in shaping the strategic direction of the company, drawing upon his wealth of experience in digital health to drive Levrx’s mission through effective execution.
Also receiving the IIT Alumna Award is Soumyo Sarkar, who presently serves as the Chief Information Officer and Portfolio Manager at Sumit Capital. Before establishing Sūmit Capital, Sarkar held the position of Managing Director at Deutsche Bank and founded and led the Deutsche Bank Matched Book Arbitrage Group from 1995 to 2009.
