The Indian Americans Forum (IAF) held a significant event at Hotel Daspalla in Hyderabad, bringing together thought leaders, social activists, and policymakers to promote democratic values, social reforms, and community welfare.
The gathering celebrated the contributions of distinguished individuals who have played pivotal roles in fostering democratic and social change. Dr. Mohammed Jameel, President of the IAF, emphasized the importance of collective action for India’s progress, particularly highlighting the impact of Indians abroad. He reaffirmed the Forum’s commitment to supporting candidates who advocate for secularism and constitutional values.
Prof. Kodanda Ram, MLC, discussed the need for social democratic reforms, focusing on public participation and addressing concerns over the Adani case. Koppula Raju, Retired IAS, called for the implementation of global policies in India for collective development. Other speakers, including MLC Amir Ali Khan and Ambassador Dr. B.M. Vinod Kumar, addressed constitutional reforms, minority rights, and India’s foreign policy.
The event also emphasized women’s safety and empowerment, with Nerella Sharada, Chairperson of the Telangana Women’s Commission, urging collective efforts to protect women’s rights. M. Rohit Rao, TPCC spokesperson, contributed $1,200 (₹1,00,000) to support women empowerment in Telangana.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Jameel called for a unified effort to build an inclusive and democratic society, urging individuals from all sectors to work together for India’s progress.
