His message was direct, acknowledging Satya’s presence on his newsletter subscriber list and expressing appreciation. He then extended an invitation to join his podcast, mentioning past guests like Mark Zuckerberg, Tony Blair, and Ilya Sutskever. Keen to discuss AI and Microsoft’s future over different timeframes, he offered to coordinate logistics with Satya’s team.
Four minutes later, Nadella responded: “Your pod is super. I would love to.”
Patel later shared a behind-the-scenes clip from the interview, captioning it, “Kids, don’t underestimate the power of a cold email.”
During the conversation, Patel called Nadella a “company man,” referencing his 34-year tenure at Microsoft. Nadella shared his enthusiasm for the company’s growth, stating, “I feel more excited with every year at Microsoft.”
