Indo-Canadian MP Chandra Arya announced on Saturday that the Liberal Party has revoked his nomination for the upcoming federal election in Nepean.
Arya, a vocal critic of pro-Khalistan elements in Canada, has repeatedly condemned the defacement of temples and other violent acts linked to the movement. He has also spoken against the former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government for allegedly sheltering such individuals. In addition, he opposed a petition by Liberal MP Sukh Dhaliwal regarding the 1985 Air India Kanishka bombing, which remains one of the deadliest acts of aviation terrorism before 9/11.
Expressing his disappointment on social media, Arya stated, “While this news is deeply disappointing, it does not diminish the profound honor and privilege it has been to serve Nepean and all Canadians as their MP since 2015.”
Reflecting on his political journey, Arya emphasized his dedication to public service and his willingness to take principled stands, even at personal or political costs. He reaffirmed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve his community and country, calling it the greatest responsibility of his life.
