From Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum of the UAE to Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, leaders celebrated the festival’s message of hope, light, and renewal.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese emphasized Diwali’s universal significance, urging communities to embrace the festival as a time of optimism and new beginnings. He expressed his hopes for a joyful and uplifting celebration, wishing all a bright and promising future during this festive season.
Sheikh Mohammed of the United Arab Emirates conveyed heartfelt wishes to Indians both in the UAE and globally. He highlighted Diwali as a time to foster peace, safety, and prosperity, extending his warmest greetings to families celebrating the festival of lights.
Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong shared his message through a video on X, underscoring the deeper meaning of Diwali. He encouraged people to see beyond the lights decorating homes, reflecting instead on the hope and courage symbolized by the festival. His message focused on “light over darkness, hope over fear,” celebrating the festival’s spiritual essence.
The United Nations also participated in the global celebrations, posting on X that the lighting of clay lamps symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness. They wished everyone a happy and safe Diwali, acknowledging the festival’s significance across cultures and faiths.
