Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni extended warm birthday wishes to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday as he celebrated his 75th birthday. Posting on social media platform X, Meloni praised Modi as a leader of immense “strength and determination” who continues to inspire millions with his vision and leadership.
“Happy 75th birthday to the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. His strength, his determination, and his ability to lead millions of people are a source of inspiration. With friendship and esteem, I wish him health and energy to continue leading India toward a bright future and to further strengthen the relations between our Nations,” Meloni wrote in her message.
The milestone birthday was marked not only by greetings from global leaders but also by celebrations within India. Born on September 17, 1950, in Gujarat’s Mehsana district, Narendra Modi rose from serving three consecutive terms as the Chief Minister of Gujarat between 2001 and 2014 to assuming India’s top office. Since 2014, he has served as the country’s Prime Minister and is currently in his third consecutive term.
Political leaders across party lines also shared their greetings, recognizing his long-standing service to the nation. To commemorate the occasion, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a two-week-long initiative called “Sewa Pakhwada.” The program, running until October 2, includes a wide array of public welfare and outreach activities. These range from medical camps and cleanliness drives to events that bring together intellectuals and fairs promoting local products. The campaign is aimed at fostering community service while highlighting development and welfare initiatives.
On his birthday, Prime Minister Modi was in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, where he launched a nationwide campaign focused on women’s and children’s health and nutrition. The initiative underscores his government’s emphasis on improving social welfare indicators while aligning with the broader celebrations of his leadership.
The combination of international recognition from leaders like Giorgia Meloni and domestic celebrations through “Sewa Pakhwada” highlighted both Modi’s global stature and his influence at home. The day served as a reminder of his role as a transformative leader and the continuing importance of India’s engagement with both its citizens and the world.
