India’s Global Capability Centres (GCCs) are on track to create 450,000 new jobs in 2025, with the sector projected to employ one million professionals within six years and 3.3 million by 2030. India has emerged as the leading hub for GCCs, thanks to its skilled talent pool and business-friendly policies. According to a report by NLB Services, many companies are planning substantial workforce expansions, with 35% of them looking to increase their teams by 50-100%. Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, and Chennai remain at the forefront of this growth, with 42% of GCCs predicting a 50% rise in their workforce by 2030. Sectors such as technology, finance, manufacturing, and sustainability are expected to see the most significant hiring activity.
The report also highlights a notable surge in hiring women, with 61% of GCCs planning to boost their female workforce by over 50% by 2030, compared to just 7% expecting such growth this year. India’s GCC sector is set to expand further, with over 2,100 centers expected by 2030, driving the market size to approximately $100 billion.
The introduction of GCC 4.0 is set to increase demand for specialized skills in financial services, marketing, digital advertising, engineering, manufacturing, and talent management. Additionally, the national framework introduced in the FY26 Budget is likely to accelerate this expansion, particularly in Tier II and III cities, while emphasizing the development of niche expertise.
