As an integral part of the upcoming G20 Summit, India is set to showcase its array of homegrown applications at the Digital India experience zone, which will be accessible to dignitaries on September 9 and 10. This exhibition will feature prominent Indian platforms, including Aadhaar, Unified Payment Interface (UPI), and the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), alongside a new addition known as GITA, offering spiritual teachings from the Shrimad Bhagwat Gita.
Within the experience zone, attendees will have the opportunity to explore various locally developed programs such as Digilocker, MyGov, and the Umang app, which serves as a conduit for residents to access a wide range of e-governance services. Additionally, G20 delegates will be able to access event-related information via the G20 India app.
The G20 India app boasts a multilingual interface to accommodate the five United Nations languages, as well as additional languages like Hindi, German, Japanese, and Portuguese. This versatile application will furnish users with insights into G20 and engagement group workstreams, virtual tours, navigation tools, and real-time social media feeds.
Originally conceived as a platform for participants, including foreign delegates and media, to register for various working groups and meetings spanning the previous six months and the forthcoming summit, the app has evolved into a comprehensive resource. It offers a vast repository of information, media releases, images, maps, and details concerning key G20 events, catering to the needs of a broad user base.
The G20 India app is available for download on both Android and iOS devices, and it has already garnered over 10,000 downloads from the Google Play Store since its introduction by the Ministry of External Affairs in November 2022.
