The ongoing India-US joint exercise ‘Tiger Triumph 2024’ witnessed collaborative operations between Indian Navy and US Navy amphibious warships in the Kakinada region of Andhra Pradesh. Integral craft onboard the ships engaged in various operations, as stated by an official announcement. Furthermore, Cross Deck helicopter operations occurred between both navies off Kakinada.
The successful execution of diverse coordinated operations underscores joint planning and execution, highlighting the strong interoperability between the Armed Forces of both nations. The Sea Phase of Exercise Tiger Triumph 2024 commenced with Indian Navy and US Navy ships sailing together from Visakhapatnam. This phase includes personnel from both countries undergoing amphibious operations training, including coordinated Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) and Medical Evacuation (MEDEVAC) drills.
Running from March 18 to 31, Exercise Tiger Triumph 2024 is a bilateral, tri-service exercise aimed at enhancing interoperability between India and the US. The opening ceremony occurred onboard INS Jalashwa on March 19, preceded by a pre-sail conference in Visakhapatnam to discuss operational details.
The exercise focuses on developing interoperability for conducting HADR operations and refining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to facilitate swift coordination between the forces of both countries. Participating units include Indian Navy ships with integral helicopters and landing crafts, Indian Army personnel and vehicles, Indian Air Force aircraft and helicopters, and the Rapid Action Medical Team (RAMT), as stated by the Ministry of Defence.
