Elon Musk, CEO of social media platform X, congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on becoming the most followed world leader on the X platform, formerly known as Twitter. Musk wrote on X, “Congratulations PM @NarendraModi on being the most followed world leader!”
Last week, PM Modi’s followers on X surpassed 100 million, making him the second most-followed global politician after former US President Barack Obama, who boasts over 131 million followers on the platform.
In the rankings, former US President and Republican presidential nominee for the 2024 elections, Donald Trump, holds the third spot with more than 87 million followers. US President Joe Biden follows with over 38 million followers. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Hillary Clinton also feature prominently on the list.
Among the most followed individuals on X, Elon Musk, who acquired Twitter (now X) in October 2022, tops the chart with over 190 million followers. Barack Obama is the second most followed person globally on the platform. Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo ranks third with over 112 million followers, followed by Canadian musician Justin Bieber and Barbadian singer Rihanna.
