The India office of the Cranberry Institute (CI) has announced that internationally acclaimed Michelin-star chef, author, and philanthropist Vikas Khanna will serve as the brand ambassador for U.S. cranberries for the 2025–26 season. This partnership aims to showcase the superfruit’s nutritional value and culinary versatility on a global scale.
Chef Khanna, celebrated for his commitment to wholesome ingredients and innovative culinary experiences, will lead campaigns promoting cranberries’ health benefits and diverse applications in various cuisines. As the face of the initiative, he will engage audiences in India and worldwide, highlighting the fruit’s relevance during health, nutrition, and festive conversations.
Reflecting on the collaboration, Chef Khanna said, “Food, for me, is about balance—nourishing the body while celebrating culture and joy. Cranberries capture this duality perfectly; they are both healthy and vibrant in flavor. I am honoured to partner with the Cranberry Institute to share their story globally, especially in India, and inspire people to incorporate cranberries into their meals in meaningful ways.”
Sumit Saran, India Representative of the Cranberry Institute, expressed excitement about the association, stating, “We are proud to work with Chef Vikas Khanna, whose talent and passion have elevated Indian cuisine internationally. His ability to combine health, heritage, and gastronomy makes him the ideal ambassador. Together, we aim to build greater awareness of cranberries’ nutritional and culinary strengths.”
Mr. Saran also highlighted the accessibility of cranberries in India, noting that dried cranberries are widely available in dry fruit stores and on major e-commerce platforms. Cranberry juice and other cranberry-based products are increasingly accessible across the country, making it easy for consumers to enjoy the fruit’s benefits.
Founded in 1951, the Cranberry Institute is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting American cranberry growers through research, education, and promotional activities. Funded by its Supporting Members—who handle, process, and sell cranberries—the institute also represents members in regulatory matters and disseminates industry updates to growers. Its board includes nine members representing cranberry handlers and processors, ensuring strategic oversight of the institute’s initiatives.
